Από την Διεύθυνση Ναυτιλιακών Επενδύσεων και Θαλάσσιου Τουρισμού του Υπουργείου Ναυτιλίας και Νησιωτικής Πολιτικής ενημερωθήκαμε για την τροποποίηση της νομοθεσίας όσον φορά την ναύλωση επαγγελματικών γιωτ άνω των 39 μέτρων με ξένη σημαία στην Τουρκία.
Επειδή η μη συμμόρφωση με τους αναθεωρημένους κανόνες μπορεί να οδηγήσει σε νομικά προβλήματα και κυρώσεις, όσοι ενδιαφέρονται για το θέμα θα βρουν τις λεπτομέρειες παρακατώ.
New Yacht Charter Regulations in Turkey announced
Following an official announcement of the Ministry of Tourism on July 19th, 2023, Turkey has amended its existing charter regulations for foreign-flagged vessels.
The new regulations no longer allow commercial yachts over 39m to charter in Turkish waters by simply paying the cruising permit fee of 36 euro per LOA. According to the new law, it is now mandatory for commercial yachts from 39m to obtain a Turkish charter license to legally operate charter activities in Turkey.
The application process for obtaining the Turkish charter license may take up to 15 days, and certain documents are necessary for the application. These documents include:
- Owner Company Registration Certificate
- P&I (Protection and Indemnity) Insurance
- Certificate of Registry (COR)
- Agency Appointment
- All the documents must be translated into Turkish and notarized
According to the new law, with the charter license in hand, commercial vessels will no longer need to leave the country upon guests’ embarkation and return the next day to commence the charter, they will be able to start the charter immediately upon guests’ embarkation instead. As before, guests can disembark at any time and in any port without facing any restrictions.
It’s crucial for commercial yacht operators to adhere to these new regulations and ensure that they obtain the necessary Turkish charter license before conducting charter activities in Turkish waters. Failing to comply with the updated rules may lead to legal issues and penalties.
